One of Julianna Thomas's self-proclaimed "biggest pet peeves in art is the lazily desaturated DSLR video," she said in an email. So, she made this short video in response to terrible black and white videos. For a year and a half, she experimented with naturally black and white textures (black glitter, ants, milk, and snow, to name a few) and filmed them in color. The result is an enthralling film that proves black and white doesn't have to be an editing afterthought. You can see more of Thomas's work on her website.
